About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to work as part of an experienced cross-disciplinary team. Core activities will include leading on preventive conservation to raise collections care standards for the permanent exhibits, exhibitions and stored collections across National Museums Liverpool sites. The post-holder will be responsible for the care of the collections through monitoring and improving environmental and storage conditions, including pest management, in close collaboration with colleagues in conservation and storage management. Core to this role is to bridge the gap between building facilities and collections care and act as the main point of communication between the Estates, Exhibitions, curatorial and Collections Care departments (including on environmental control). The post-holder will promote and develop best practice in conservation and collections care including delivery of a comprehensive training programme across the organisation.

It is essential the successful candidate has specialist knowledge and experience in preventive conservation, is able to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues, is an outstanding, friendly and persuasive communicator and has excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
