About the Role
Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum in Trondheim is looking for a Textile Conservator for 1 year with the possibility of extension, to work with our textile collection, especially the large tapestries. The museum is currently working on moving the collection to an external storage and needs the support of a textile conservator who can assist with condition assessment and advice on storage and conservation of the textiles. Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum manages one of Norway's largest textile collections; Hannah Ryggens tapestries are an important part of this. We are looking for a person who has a good command of both spoken and written English and is interested in learning Norwegian. However, some of the museum's staff speak German. The textile conservator must have an MA in Conservation or equivalent training from a recognized educational institution and at least 1 year of relevant practice after completing the training.
We offer good pension and insurance schemes. The salary will be the minimum what Icon recommends and will be offered depending on experience. The application deadline is 1 August 2024.
This is a full-time position with 7.5 hour day including paid lunch. From 8am - 3:30pm, with core time between 9am - 3pm.
Support with work visa for the job holder will be provided, if needed.
