I am about to begin my second year at Cardiff University studying MSc Conservation Practice. In my first year, I have worked on an ancient whistle from The Egypt Centre in Swansea, and archaeological iron excavated from Ferrycarrig, Wexford by the Irish Archaeology Field School. Between first and second year, I have completed a placement at Cardiff University, working on Roman coins and repackaging archaeological glass, in addition to experience with air abrasion. I have also recently completed a course with the Irish Archaeology Field School in Wexford, working on a live archaeological dig.
My background is in the creative arts, and I graduated from Cambridge University with my undergraduate degree in History of Art in 2017, before transferring to conservation for my Master’s last year. I am interested in the conservation of archaeological metal, ancient and ethnographic objects, and also have an interest in Medieval and early modern history.

I am a second year MSc student at Cardiff University originally from Hawaii.

In my first year I had the opportunity to work on a Roman black-burnished ware jar, as well as various metal finds and excavated painted glass. Over the summer of 2024 I took part in an archaeological excavation in Trelai Park, Cardiff, assisting in on-site conservation and the excavation of particularly fragile objects. I also did a placement at Bolton Museum, where I worked on plaster models, copper alloys, and low-fired ceramics.

I received my BA (Hons) in Medieval Studies in 2023 from Swansea University. I’m particularly interested in ceramics and stained glass.

With the intention to become an accredited conservator, I am currently looking for positions to widen my knowledge on conservation practices and provide practical experience in the heritage sector. I have recently completed my MA in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Lincoln and have a strong interest in furniture and decorative art objects, although am keen to expand my knowledge in as many disciplines as possible.

My academic and personal experience will be of benefit to those I join, as I can offer someone who takes a conscientious and methodical approach to all work. My manual dexterity and ability to make analytical decisions is also strong as evidenced by my consistent high grades.

Inês Feliciano is a self-employed conservator from Lisbon, Portugal. BA in Art history. Has a Master in conservation from NOVA university of Lisbon, specialized in ceramic materials. Since 2003 has been doing work in conservation and restoration of ceramic, glass, Portuguese tiles and archaeologic inorganic objects in collaboration with public institutions, museums, antique dealers and private collectors. Working with national and international clients, in museums and palaces, as Palácio Nacional da Pena and Museu Nacional do Azulejo, in Portugal. The National Museum of Oman, in the middle east , The Museum of Salzburg, Schloss Hellbrunn and Schloss LeopoldsKron, both in Salzburg. She is currently undertaking a PhD degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at NOVA School of Science and Technology, integrated into the The ChromAz project, with the subject: A journey through Portuguese tiles from the 16th to 18th centuries. Technology and conservation.

Former secondary science teacher, currently completing my second year MSc Conservation Practice at Cardiff University, with an undergraduate degree in chemistry. The four main objects I have so far worked on painted leather rosettes, a glass milk jug, a middle bronze age ceramic and a coptic dress. Other materials worked on include archeological glass and metals, waterlogged wood, and a plaster statue base.

As a conservation student at Cardiff University, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of objects, including a Roman coin hoard, excavated stained glass collections, and most recently, a set of cracked 18th-century clay molds. This project was particularly insightful, involving the removal of aged adhesive from the objects, undertaking cleaning, readhering the molds, and researching ways to cast replicas for use by the curatorial team at Bristol Museum. Additionally, I completed a placement as a finds conservator on an archaeological dig in Cardiff, where I particularly enjoyed running activities with school groups and helping the public learn more about archaeological conservation, and have undertaken a Preventive Conservation Student Work Placement with the National Museum Cardiff.

I am currently a second year student on the MA Conservation of Archaeological and Museum Objects at Durham University. I am undertaking a year in placement as a conservation intern at York Archaeological Trust.
