An Introduction to Passementerie with Clare Hedges
British School of Upholstered Furniture, Nettlebed, Oxfordshire
Clare Hedges is delighted to announce that she will be running a 2-day workshop at The British School of Upholstered Furniture in Nettlebed, Oxfordshire, on 14 – 15 Oct.
She is a second-generation artisan in the craft of handmade passementerie. She has been weaving since a child has an unsurpassed eye for colour and detail, essential when making purely bespoke trimmings for the highest quality furnishings. Herwork is in National Trust properties, stately homes and many private properties around the world.
The first day of the workshop will cover the basic techniques regularly used in hand made passementerie while on the second day students will have the opportunity to put those techniques together to complete a tasselled button.
All materials and lunch are included in the ticket price of £195 for the 2 days 9.30am – 4.30pm each day. The British School of Upholstered Furniture is based in a lovely old barn in the small village of Nettlebed with parking on site.
