Pinned insects conservation course
New date TBC. Simon Moore is suspending the practical courses for next month (Taxidermy conservation and pinned insects conservation). He hopes to run these in the Autumn of this year, providing that travel restrictions have been sufficiently relaxed by that time. However, he plans to run the two courses back to back for a full five days which will (just) be enough time to run the insect course for 2 days. The cost will be taxidermy £300 (as before) and the pinned insects (£250) but a combined full week course will be £500. For those that have already signed up, they will receive priority booking. All being well, the courses will take place in the same venue in Rotherham.
His course requires steady hands! You will be learning how to repair insect and other dried, pinned arthropod specimens that have sustained physical and pest damage, also disruption due to verdigris and rust. Much use of Gampi tissue and learning how to repair and restore butterfly wings that have been munched by pests. Visual aids will be available to borrow or to purchase as required.
Please contact Simon Moore: firstname.lastname@example.org for more details and registration.
