Summary: 

A training course on Microsoft Excel to help ensure conservators have the skills to efficiently manage their scientific data.

Event description: 

The course will be run by Andie Mills from the IT training hub, a professional training company  who aim to give participants confidence in Excel and how to use Excel’s features correctly to improve efficiency, leaving more time to concentrate on important tasks, and less time battling with the software.

IMPORTANT: Delegates are required to bring their own laptops on the day.

The course will be pitched at an Intermediate to Advanced level, therefore delegates should be familiar with Excel and able to create, format and structure spreadsheets. Ideally have experience in creating basic statistical functions and be able to create a simple chart.

Formulas and Functions for managing data
Working with Text
Working with Databases/Lists
Useful Formatting Tools
Useful Data Tools
Advanced Charting
PivotTables and Pivot Charts
Time for specific questions from participants at the end

Catering: Teas, coffees and a buffet lunch are included in the cost of the workshop.  Please let the organiser know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Excel Training Event Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend a HSG event you have booked, you may receive a 100% refund of your registration fee provided you notify the organiser that you cannot attend at least 10 working days in advance of the event. Please note that this refund policy is specific to this Excel training event, and may differ from the standard HSG refund policy.

If you notify the organiser less than 10 working days in advance, any refund is dependent on the place being filled from a wait list. A deduction may be made from any refund for irrecoverable expenses incurred such as pre-booked catering. No refunds can be made for non-attendance or notification less than 24 hours in advance of an event. HSG may cancel the event if the minimum number of participants is not met 10 working days in advance. If it proves necessary to postpone or cancel a Heritage Science Group event for any reason your full payment will be refunded.   Heritage Science Group will not be held responsible for any travel or other costs incurred should an event be postponed or cancelled. It may take up to fourteen days after the event date for a refund to be issued.
