Icon Mentor Training July 2025

An online session for Accredited Members considering mentoring, covering the process, responsibilities, and support to help candidates succeed in their Accreditation

Icon’s dedicated mentors play a vital role in supporting Pathway members through the Icon Accreditation application and assessment process. We’re seeking mentors from all areas of professional practice to help our members succeed. Since most mentoring support is provided remotely, mentors can be based anywhere in the world.

As a mentor, you’ll act as a sounding board — helping candidates break down the Icon Professional Standards, advising them on selecting projects and gathering evidence, and offering support and guidance to build confidence and ensure they’re ready for Accreditation.

To become an Icon mentor, you must:
  • Be an Accredited Member of Icon
  • Be able to support at least two candidates a year
  • Participate in annual review meetings and training

Mentoring is also a fantastic opportunity to develop your own leadership and coaching skills.

Led by our Skills and Accreditation Manager, Heather Doyle, this session will cover:

  • The roles and responsibilities of a mentor
  • An up-to-date overview of the Icon Accreditation application process
  • An introduction to our ePortfolio system, OneFile
  • Where to find additional support and guidance

Please note that you’ll need to attend the training session live.

If you’re interested but unable to join on this date, please email [email protected] and we’ll get in touch when the next round of training is scheduled.
