This seminar examines insect pheromones and their function in the natural world and how they can be harnessed to prevent pest insects from harming heritage collections. The identification, synthesis and commercial development of pheromones will be followed by examples of their value in practical pest management. This will be illustrated by case studies from the UK and USA and there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
