Investigation and Conservation of Decorative Plaster Ceilings
To: Thursday 21.01.21
This seminar provides an overview of some of the materials, the type of problems these present, and the implications of resolving these in an appropriate way that is able to ensure that both the physical integrity of the scheme and its historic value are safeguarded. As such, this work often combines archival research, material analysis and whatever practical skills are required to facilitate long term preservation and safety.
This seminar on decorative plaster with Richard Ireland is gratis and open to all. Please register as places are limited. There will be a 55 minute presentation followed by 15 minutes of discussion.
Richard Ireland works with historic plaster and decorative surfaces and has carried out projects for many public bodies across the UK and Ireland including Historic England, English Heritage, Historic Royal Palaces, Royal Household Property Services, Westminster City Council, Office of Public Works Ireland, the National Trust, Historic Scotland and various ecclesiastical organisations.
