60 Great Queen Street

The Independent Paper Conservators' Group is hosting a lecture from Richard Hawkes

‘A View from the North’ by Richard Hawkes

“I have worked as an independent conservator in Yorkshire for 13 years, for a broad range of museums and galleries, few of which have in-house conservation staff. I will be sharing experiences of displaying contemporary art on paper and projects to conserve collections of work from 19th and early 20th century artists to later works by Barbara Hepworth and Banksy.”

Richard Hawkes moved to Harrogate in 2004 where he set up Artworks Conservation. He has recently joined the committee of an arts charity, New Light, which promotes northern artists and arts education.
