Each week the textile group will find 5 activities to do from home.

Event description: 

Working from home can have it's highs and lows. In these uncertain times the textile group are hoping to add a little light to your week by pulling together a shortlist of digital events taking place. The list will be updated every Friday with five suggestions for the following week. If you or your institution are hosting an event you'd like to share with us please reach out to our website editor Hannah at or @ICON_Textiles on Twitter. We want to share arts/hertiage related events, especially those with a textile or conservation focus. 

Monday 20th April: The International Mount Makers Forum meets every couple of years and the most recent forum is available in full on YouTube, including papers on costume mounting. For more information about the forum check out their website:

Tuesday 21st April: Today a recent article exploring behind the scenes in the textile and fashion department at LACMA. the

Wednesday 22nd April: If you've been following the Book and Paper Group's webinar series, you may have seen they are branching out with help from other groups. Today's talk see's Eleanor Schofield, Head of Conservation & Collections Care, Mary Rose Trust discussing "Where the arts meet science: Keeping the Mary Rose shipshape". From 4pm. Join here: 

Thursday 23rd April: Explore Google Arts and see inside several international heritage sites and 100s of artworks in high definition. 

Friday 24th April: For this week's crafty Friday grab some warp and weft and follow along with the Dovecot Weaving Studio's weaving at home sessions. Three lessons are out at the moment, with more on the way...
