Summary:

Following the great success of this workshop in 2018, we are glad to announce the one day Making Bespoke Book Cradles for Exhibitions will be held in Cambridge this year.

Event description:

On this one day course, you will learn how to make three cradles for displaying books whether closed or open. The cradles will be made with a conservation-grade mount board to perfectly fit the shape of a book. At the end of an exhibition these cradles can easily be recycled and so there is no issue with handling and storage.

About the instructor

Monika Stokowiec is a book conservator with many years of experience working in private studios and institutions. She currently works at the Fitzwilliam Museum as an Assistant Conservator in the Printed Books and Manuscripts Department.
