Havering Hoard: Virtual Tour and Lecture
12 February 2021 from 12.00 to 13.00 (GMT)
Join the Icon Archaeology Group for a lockdown tour of the Havering Hoard exhibition at the Museum of London Docklands.
The Havering Hoard is the largest ever Bronze Age hoard to be discovered in London. Tools and weapons, including axe heads, spearheads, fragments of swords, daggers and knives, alongside metal working waste, such as ingots and casting waste, make up a total of 453 bronze objects dating between c.900 and c.800 BC that are on display as part of the exhibition.
After the tour, Pieta Greaves ACR will give a short lecture dealing with the micro-excavation and conservation of the hoard. You will also hear from Kate Sumnall and Luisa Duarte, who will discuss the exhibition and installation process.
The event is free and will be held on Zoom. Register here or via the Icon Events page.
