Senior Archaeologist - Archaeological Conservator

The UCL Institute of Archaeology is seeking a Senior Archaeologist - Archaeological Conservator

Archaeology South-East (Field Unit, UCL Institute of Archaeology) requires an experienced Archaeological Conservator. The post holder will undertake the remedial conservation of a range of material types, undertake the x-raying of objects and prepare technical conservation reports for a variety of clients. ASE operates out of offices in East Sussex, Essex and London and this post is based in the Sussex office.

Candidates should have demonstrable experience of carrying out remedial conservation on a range of artefacts from archaeological projects with knowledge of both treatment and preventative conservation theory and practice. The post-holder should have a degree or post-graduate qualification in Archaeological Conservation or Heritage Conservation with experience in the preparation of specialist reports.

A driving licence is essential to enable travel from the Archaeology South-East office to Fishbourne Roman Palace's conservation lab.
