British Council Grants to Develop Chinese Partnerships – Apply Now

The British Council’s 29th Round of Connections through Culture is open for applications until 26 October 2018 to support visits to China occurring between January and March 2019.

The programme offers a limited number of small grants to enable artists or members of arts organisations to visit their counterparts in China or the UK for up to ten days, to develop projects, exchange skills or see others' work.

Running for nearly a decade, Connections through Culture is a long-term programme to develop exciting cultural collaborations between artists and arts organisations, supporting long-lasting relationships between China and the UK. Grants are offered four times each year.

Icon has participated in two cultural exchange tours to Shaanxi Province. Icon observed that there is great motivation in the region to develop standards and professionalism in cultural heritage conservation and considerable interest in UK collaboration. This offers a valuable opportunity for the UK conservation sector to expand its international activities and to learn from Chinese partners.
