Grants for 2020 conservation graduates

Throughout the last year conservation students have been forced to rapidly adapt to learning in an ever-changing environment.

In doing so, students have proven to be remarkably resilient and proactive in ensuring that they develop a broad range of skills, knowledge and understanding to help them as they embark on the next stages of their careers. However we know funding can be a barrier, which is why we are delighted to see that the Anna Plowden Trust and The Clothworkers’ Foundation have made available a limited number of grants for up to £1,000 to allow those graduating from recognised UK conservation training programmes in 2020 to gain further practical training or experience.

The grant could be used to support a wide range of activities, such as the costs of deferred or additional short-term work experience placements to allow someone to develop their skills.

The scheme will run until early April (no set deadlines for applications). This is a good opportunity for students and recent graduates to think creatively how they can use this funding to support the development of their practical skills.

Are you a current conservation student or recent graduate? The Conservation Higher Education Institutions Network will be running an event to explore the concerns of students and graduates as they consider the skills they are able to offer as they enter the job market.
