Icon Responds to 'Building Our Industrial Strategy' Green Paper

Icon has responded to the government consultation on the green paper, Building Our Industrial Strategy

The trustees, along with Icon CEO Alison Richmond, submitted a response to the green paper. In addition, Icon was in contact with the National Heritage Science Forum to over their response to the consultation. Icon's focused on primarily addressing two out of the ten key pillars of the green paper.

Developing skills

Icon welcomed the government's proposals for technical education. Icon especially welcomes the leadership of employers in developing and supporting technical education. 

Cultivating world-leading sectors

Icon highlighted that conservation in the United Kingdom is already a world-leading sector and is already recognised for conservation excellence. Icon also highlighted the potential export value of conservation skills and knowledge, particularly in post-Brexit times.
