Icon’s Response to HLF Strategic Funding Framework Consultation

The Heritage Lottery Fund consulted with the sector and the public on its Strategic Funding Framework 2019-2024. The framework aimed to set out clear strategic priorities for National Lottery investment in heritage, simplify funding processes and to drive innovation and investment in a range of policy priorities across the UK.

The consultation represented an unmissable opportunity to engage with one of the heritage sector’s most significant funders.

Icon submitted a response to the questionnaire after a two-week consultation period with its members. “Having the input of our members was incredibly valuable. Their comments helped us put together a thorough and insightful response,” Icon Policy Advisor Anni Mantyniemi said. “Thank you to everyone who shared their views!”

Icon’s final submission argued for HLF investment to support collections management and research needs, to address the sector’s need for a strong workforce and to promote the benefit of professional skills and high standards of practice.
