Learning at Work Week with Icon

Learning at Work Week is 15th - 21st May

Learning at Work Week, developed by the Campaign for Learning, is the national campaign to put the spotlight on learning and development in the workplace. The theme of this year's event is 'Creative and Curious' exploring different ways that you can support your own continuing professional development (CPD). Professional development doesn't simply have to be formal academic learning, or be really time consuming. Provided you take something away from it, anything that enhances your own professional skills could be CPD!

So what are you going to do this week?

  • Shadow a colleague or client? See how someone else works and learn skills from them or gain a deeper understanding of other teams in your workplace.
  • If you volunteer outside of work, you might be learning skills in managing projects or supporting other volunteers which you can take back to your professional practice.
  • Passing on your own skills and knowledge to others
  • Getting out there and meeting new professionals to enhance your own professional network.

Icon will be hosting a webinar on Thursday 18th May, led by our Head of Professional Development and Training & Development Manager exploring the different ways you can support your CPD, and how you can record, measure and assess these activities! To book a place please click here.

Throughout the week we'll also be sharing stories and news about conservators developing skills at work on our social media. Be sure to use #IconWebinar if you're taking part in our webinar, and #LearningatWorkWeek to keep track of what people are up to around the world.
