Arts Council England is offering more opportunities for conservators to apply for funding, having recently re-launched its Developing Your Creative Practice fund.
Following her recent blog about National Lottery Project Grants, Isabel Churcher, Senior Manager for Museums and Cultural Property at Arts Council England, offers Icon an update:
Don’t be put off by the name! The fund is targeted at anyone working in the sector in England who is involved in helping to create new content or reshape culture – and conservators certainly come under this definition.
The Developing Your Creative Practice fund fund offers conservators and other creative practitioners the opportunity to think about your own learning needs – and that doesn’t happen very often! You can apply for between £2k and £10k to develop your own practice over a 12-month period. This could include:
The budget has increased from £3.6m to £18m from October 2020 to October 2021 allowing Arts Council to provide much needed support to individuals in the arts and cultural sector. There are three application rounds remaining, with the portal for applications opening during the week of 21 December 2020.
In the first round we didn’t receive many applications from museum freelancers so we’re especially keen to hear from this group and to support you.
