Historic Royal Palaces (Deadline 21/4/2025)
As a key part of this team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the buildings and collections in our care continue to be provided with the highest standards of preventive conservation.
The Role
Your work will cover a wide range of activities, with particular responsibility for the planning, co-ordination and delivery of collection moves and protection works associated with our upcoming Fire Upgrades project, which will involve replacing the existing fire monitoring system across the estate.
You will also work to deliver our day-to-day preventive conservation programme, providing specialist preventive conservation advice and support across the organisation, carrying out environmental risk management assessments and hands on conservation cleaning of these fragile objects, undertaking condition auditing and working with our stored collections.
You should be able to work at heights and move collection items on a routine basis. The role will also include additional evening and weekend working at any of our sites to supervise events and activities such as filming and corporate functions. Although based at Hampton Court, you may be required to travel to assist in the care of our other palaces.
